Elections nepal: Grade XI, XII exams to be postponed

Kathmandu: This year’s exams for grades XI and XII are likely to be postponed as the country prepares for local elections.

The government’s plan to conduct nationwide elections on May 14 has already been endorsed by the election commission. According to the commission’s election timetable, all schools in the country will be shut from May 8-14, and this will have a bearing on the exam schedule, says the Examination Board.

“We were planning to conduct grade XI exams from May 7-17, said Board chief Dilli Rimal. “We can’t conducthe exams on these dates now because all schools will be closed for elections,” he added.
He said the Board is consulting with the election commission to prepare a new schedule for the exams.
