Melamchi water to be supplied kathmandu in time


Kathmandu, Feb 21: Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Prem Bahadur Singh has pledged to supply the drinking water of the Melamchi Water Supply Project in the Kathmandu valley in the stipulated time adding that the construction works of the project were speeding up.

In an interaction programme organized by the Sanchar Pratisthan here today, Minister Singh claimed that there was no confusion in completing the project in time as construction works are in final stage.
He further shared that the sample test of the water will be carried out in June after the water is drawn to the valley from the Melamchi river in Sindhupalchok district and the water would be distributed to the consumers by Dashain festival.

Minister Singh added that the Melachami-2 Project also would begin to address the water crisis in Kathmandu valley.

The executive director of the project engineer Ghanashyam Bhattarai briefed about the progress of the project.

Similarly, Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) executive director Sanjiv Bikram Rana further shared that they will avail the drinking water through tanker during this dry season in the valley. RSS
