KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday held a meeting with the main opposition leader and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to discuss contemporary political issues.
Saying that the government was forced to announce the date for local level elections under the pressure of his party, the UML leader said that the government had staged a drama of constitution amendment merely to foil the civic polls.
Oli claimed that the polls would be held on the announced date and no power could thwart the elections.
The government has decided to hold the local level elections on May 14.
एमाले अध्यक्ष केपी ओली र माओवादी केन्द्रका अध्यक्षसमेत रहेका प्रधानमन्त्री पुष्पकमल दाहाल ‘प्रचण्ड’ अस्वाभाविक रुपमा नजिकिएपछी काँग्रेस सभापति शेरबहादुर देउवा झस्किएका छन् । देउवाले आगामी ३१ वैशाखका लागि घोषणा गरिएको स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचन भए वा नभए दुवै अवस्थामा आफूलाई सत्ता सुम्पन प्रधानमन्त्रीलाई दबाब दिइरहेका छन् ।
