Kathmandu, March 14: India's new ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, today paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat at latter's office.
During the meeting, the two discussed the matters relating to Nepal-India relations and Nepal's latest political situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
On the occasion, Minister Mahat said the preparations for the upcoming local-level election in the country were going on in full swing and the government was doing its best to ensure the participation of all political parties in the election.
Extending gratitude to the Government of India for its support to Nepal's greater interests including the development endevours, the Foreign Minister wished for a successful term of the Indian ambassador.
Likewise, the Indian ambassador recalling the age-old relationship between Nepal and India, pledged his best to strengthen this relation further.
